About the Author:
Timothy Mason’s musical adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS! (music by Mel Marvin) has become a seasonal hit on Broadway and on tour. His plays have been produced in New York by Circle Rep (including THE FIERY FURNACE starring Julie Harris and BABYLON GARDENS with Mary-Louise Parker and Timothy Hutton). Other plays have been produced by the Actors Theatre of Louisville, South Coast Rep, Seattle Rep, Victory Gardens, Portland Stage, the Jungle Theatre and the Guthrie Theatre Lab. Mason has an ongoing collaboration with A.C.T.’s Young Conservatory, (ASCENSION DAY, THE LESS THAN HUMAN CLUB, TIME ON FIRE, MULLEN’S ALLEY and MY LIFE IN THE SILENTS). He has won the Kennedy Center Fund for New American Plays Award, the W. Alton Jones Foundation Award, the Berilla Kerr Award, a National Endowment for the Arts Award and the National Society of Arts and Letters Award.
About the Illustrator:
Paul Cronan has been sketching for as long as he can remember. He lives with his parents and a sister in Baltimore, MD, where he attends the Baltimore School for the Arts — a public high school for the performing and visual arts. Apart from drawing, Paul loves reading, music and finding a great tree to climb. The Last Synapsid is his first illustrated book.
About the Cover Illustrator
Chris Buzelli was born and raised outside of Chicago and on the waters of Lake Michigan. He was influenced by his Grandfather Armondo Buzelli at young age, painting side by side in his television repair shop. After graduating from Rhode Island School of Design, Chris moved to New York City to start his career as an illustrator. His oil paintings have appeared in many publications including Rolling Stone, TIME, Playboy, New York Times and LA Times. Chris has collaborated on numerous projects for design firms and advertising agencies. Some recent projects include a poster series for the Tropen Museum in Amsterdam commissioned by Saatchi and Saatchi, a wine label for St. Supery, a Fun-Wall card for Facebook commissioned by McCann Erickson and an ad campaign for United Airlines/Olympics commissioned by Arc Worldwide. Chris’ work has been recognized by American Illustration, Society of Illustrators, SPD, Communication Arts, Print and 3x3 magazine. He also shows his work in various exhibitions and galleries throughout the US. Chris lives in NYC with his wife, SooJin, and mini-pinscher, Sota.
